Professor Raman Singh’s primary research interests are in the relationship of Nano-/microstructure and Environment-assisted degradation and fracture of metallic and composite materials, and Nanotechnology for Advanced Mitigation of such Degradations. He has also worked extensively on use of advanced materials (e.g., graphene) for corrosion mitigation, stress corrosion cracking, and corrosion and corrosion-mitigation of magnesium alloys (including for the use of magnesium alloys for aerospace, defence and bioimplant applications). César Augusto Correia de Sequeira was born in Peso da Régua, Portugal, in 1943. On graduation in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon in 1968 (7-year course) he was invited to join the staff of Instituto Superior Técnico as Lecturer (“assistente”). One year later he was invited to serve as Reader (“regente”) of Electrochemistry, Electrometallurgy and Electrothermy (one year course), for the 6th year students of chemical and electrotechnical engineering. In 1971 he started high temperature chemistry research in the Nuffield Research Group at Imperial College, obtaining a DIC (Diploma of Imperial College) in 1972 and a PhD from London University in October 1974. In the same year he returned to Lisbon and joined the University teaching staff, where he has been teaching and supervising research (at undergraduate, MSc and PhD levels) for more than 50 years. In 1976, jointly with the Dean of the University of Lisbon, he established the CECUL (Centre of Electrochemistry and Kinetics of the University of Lisbon). He spent one year (1982) with the Materials Development Division of the Atomic Research Establishment (Harwell, U.K.), where he performed a fruitful research work on the development of all solid-state polymer-based lithium cells.. He was also Invited Professor at the University of Utah, UMIST (UK), Univ. of Reading (UK), Univ. of Iserlohn (Germany), and Univ. of Arizona (USA). He has directed several international projects on electrochemistry which were financed by the European Union. He is author/co-author of over 650 technical publications. He is a member of several renowned international societies, being a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, IOM3, U.K., a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (U.K.), and an Emeritus Member of the Electrochemical Society (U.S.A.). Prof. Mineo Hiramatsu received Ph.D. from Nagoya University, Japan in 1987 and is a Full Professor of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Meijo University, Japan since 2006. He served as the Director of The Japan Society of Applied Physics. His main fields of research are plasma diagnostics and plasma processing for the synthesis of thin films and nanostructured materials. I am a Postdoctoral fellow in Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Science. I completed my PhD degree in the Chinese University of Hong Kong in applied and computational mathematics under the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme. Here, I focused on the solution of nonlinear PDE’s by finite element method obtained from compressible flow of Newtonian as well as non-Newtonian fluids under the supervision of Prof. Jun Zou. During the PhD, Also, I awarded the OeAD fellowship from the Austria Government for 9th month academic exchange program to the University of Graz. In this program I worked with Prof. Gundolf Haase. I have obtained my master’s degree (MPhil) in applied Mathematics from Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan under the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund Fellowship. In this duration, I worked in Fluid Mechanics under the supervision of Prof. Tasawar Hayat. I have obtained my undergraduate degree (BS Hons. 4-Year) in Mathematics, from the Department of Mathematics, University of Malakand, Pakistan. In this study, I secured the Merit Certificate and Gold Medal. In my overall research career, I have published several research articles in well reputed international journals.

Dr. Satoru Ichinokura is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Tokyo Institute of Technology. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2016. Drabold is Edwin and Ruth Kennedy Distinguished Professor of Physics at Ohio University, a Fellow of the British Institute of Physics, the American Physical Society and the Royal Numismatic Society. He is a life member of Clare Hall, twice a Visiting Fellow Commoner in Trinity College, former Leverhulme Visiting Professor of Chemistry (all in Cambridge) and was a visiting professor at Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona. His “h-index” is 60, with over 270 publications and more than 11,000 citations. Drabold has mentored 22 PhD’s, several of whom have become well known scientists. Vidushi Sharma (Ph.D.) is currently a Staff Research Scientist in Energy Storage Group at IBM Almaden Research Center. She received her Ph.D degree in Mechanical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and in her thesis titled "Electro-chemo-mechanics of the interfaces in 2D-3D heterostructure electrodes" she computationally studied chemical and mechanical properties of interfaces formed by two dimensional materials such as Graphene and MXene with bulk alloying electrodes and their following electrochemical impact. After completing her doctorate in 2021, Vidushi joined IBM Research as a Research Scientist. Her research is focussed on driving new material design and discovery with in-silico approaches that widely range from deep learning, artificial intelligence, molecular dynamics, ab-initio simulations, kinetic monte carlo, and lately to quantum computing. Besides having major experience in working on battery materials, she also have some background in design, simulation and synthesis of pharmaceutical molecules, catalysts and nano medicine.

Ashkan is a PhD candidate at the Department of Agricultural Chemistry, National Taiwan University. He has been awarded “Outstanding International Graduate Student Scholarship” at the National Taiwan University, and won the “Otto-Hutzinger student award” at Dioxin 2024 Singapore conference for his research on pentachlorophenol photodegradation under visible light irradiation. His current research focuses on developing graphitic carbon nitrite based photocatalysts for the photodegradation pollutants in aquatic systems under visible light irradiation.

Ahmed Mourtada Elseman is a highly accomplished scientist with a strong educational background in Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry. He obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the Faculty of Science at Al-Azhar University in Egypt. His Ph.D. research, completed in February 2017, focused on perovskite solar cells.In addition to his degrees, Ahmed also holds two diplomas from prestigious institutions in China.
