Professor Raman Singh’s primary research interests are in the relationship of Nano-/microstructure and Environment-assisted degradation and fracture of metallic and composite materials, and Nanotechnology for Advanced Mitigation of such Degradations. I am a Postdoctoral fellow in Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Science. I completed my PhD degree in the Chinese University of Hong Kong in applied and computational mathematics under the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme. Here, I focused on the solution of nonlinear PDE’s by finite element method obtained from compressible flow of Newtonian as well as non-Newtonian fluids under the supervision of Prof. Jun Zou. During the PhD, Also, I awarded the OeAD fellowship from the Austria Government for 9th month academic exchange program to the University of Graz. In this program I worked with Prof. Gundolf Haase. I have obtained my master’s degree (MPhil) in applied Mathematics from Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan under the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund Fellowship. In this duration, I worked in Fluid Mechanics under the supervision of Prof. Tasawar Hayat. I have obtained my undergraduate degree (BS Hons. 4-Year) in Mathematics, from the Department of Mathematics, University of Malakand, Pakistan. Dr. Satoru Ichinokura is a senior researcher in National Institute for Materials Science. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2016. His research focuses on condensed matter physics, specifically low-dimensional superconductors. I’m Erica Menna, PhD, and I’m an industrial engineer, currently research fellow at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, where I also have earned a PhD in Design Manufacturing and Operations Engineering. As member of the Manufacturing and Technology research group, I’d been involved in several competitive research projects, aimed at publication, usually working quite close with partners but on stand alone basis, including third parties like technology companies, Universities, innovation centers both Italy and Europe based. Dr. Tomohiro Matsui is a principal researcher at Advanced Research Laboratory, Anritsu corporation, since 2020. His current research topic is the development of graphene nanoscale devices. Recently, he is interested in the graphene enhanced Raman scattering, thermo-electric devices and gas/bio sensors made from nano-structured graphene. Before moving to Anritsu, he had been worked as an assistant professor at Department of Physics, the University of Tokyo. His main interests at that time were the low dimensional quantum physics at ultra-low temperatures and the study with the scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy. Vidushi Sharma (Ph.D.) is currently a Staff Research Scientist in Energy Storage Group at IBM Almaden Research Center. She received her Ph.D degree in Mechanical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and in her thesis titled "Electro-chemo-mechanics of the interfaces in 2D-3D heterostructure electrodes" she computationally studied chemical and mechanical properties of interfaces formed by two dimensional materials such as Graphene and MXene with bulk alloying electrodes and their following electrochemical impact. After completing her doctorate in 2021, Vidushi joined IBM Research as a Research Scientist. Her research is focussed on driving new material design and discovery with in-silico approaches that widely range from deep learning, artificial intelligence, molecular dynamics, ab-initio simulations, kinetic monte carlo, and lately to quantum computing. Besides having major experience in working on battery materials, she also have some background in design, simulation and synthesis of pharmaceutical molecules, catalysts and nano medicine.

Ashkan is a PhD candidate at the Department of Agricultural Chemistry, National Taiwan University. He has been awarded “Outstanding International Graduate Student Scholarship” at the National Taiwan University, and won the “Otto-Hutzinger student award” at Dioxin 2024 Singapore conference for his research on pentachlorophenol photodegradation under visible light irradiation. César Augusto Correia de Sequeira was born in Peso da Régua, Portugal, in 1943. On graduation in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon in 1968 (7-year course) he was invited to join the staff of Instituto Superior Técnico as Lecturer (“assistente”). One year later he was invited to serve as Reader (“regente”) of Electrochemistry, Electrometallurgy and Electrothermy (one year course), for the 6th year students of chemical and electrotechnical engineering. In 1971 he started high temperature chemistry research in the Nuffield Research Group at Imperial College, obtaining a DIC (Diploma of Imperial College) in 1972 and a PhD from London University in October 1974. In the same year he returned to Lisbon and joined the University teaching staff, where he has been teaching and supervising research (at undergraduate, MSc and PhD levels) for more than 50 years. In 1976, jointly with the Dean of the University of Lisbon, he established the CECUL (Centre of Electrochemistry and Kinetics of the University of Lisbon). He spent one year (1982) with the Materials Development Division of the Atomic Research Establishment (Harwell, U.K.), where he performed a fruitful research work on the development of all solid-state polymer-based lithium cells.. He was also Invited Professor at the University of Utah, UMIST (UK), Univ. of Reading (UK), Univ. of Iserlohn (Germany), and Univ. of Arizona (USA). He has directed several international projects on electrochemistry which were financed by the European Union. He is author/co-author of over 650 technical publications. Ahmed Mourtada Elseman is a highly accomplished scientist with a strong educational background in Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry. He obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the Faculty of Science at Al-Azhar University in Egypt. His Ph.D. research, completed in February 2017, focused on perovskite solar cells. In addition to his degrees, Ahmed also holds two diplomas from prestigious institutions in China. Currently, Ahmed serves as an Associate Professor and Head of the Electronic and Magnetic Materials Department (EMMD) at the Central Metallurgical Research & Development Institute (CMRDI) in Egypt. His exceptional talent and expertise were recognized when he was awarded the Talent Young Scientific (TYSP) Postdoctoral Research Fellow position, funded by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), in Beijing, China, from 2017 to 2018. Following his postdoctoral fellowship, Ahmed was appointed as a lecturer in the School of Materials and Energy at Southwest University in Chongqing, China, where he served from 2018 to 2020. During this time, his outstanding contributions to the field were acknowledged with the CMRDI prize for excellence in a scientific publication in 2018. From 2020 - 2023, he achieved the remarkable distinction of being ranked 1 st in Africa and Egypt for his pioneering work on low- cost perovskite solar cells, as assessed by the SciVal Analyzer website. His current research endeavors revolve around comprehending the mechanisms and fundamental properties of perovskite solar cells while also striving to develop scalable protocols for achieving high efficiency in these devices. Given his expertise, Ahmed actively contributes to the scientific community as a reviewer and a member of the editorial board for several prestigious journals. He has been active in investigating the use of graphene derivatives as parents adsorbents and in developing highlight efficient sorption composites. He earned his undergraduate degree from Alexandria University and a PhD from the University of Birmingham in sustainable sorption cooling technology, focusing on computational modelling, optimisation, and material-level experimentation. With a strong background in academia and industry collaboration, Ahmed and his team of students and postdocs at the Engineering for Sustainable Development Centre have developed several innovations and gained insights at both material and system levels. Their work utilises solar and wind energy for cooling, heating, and water purification. Ahmed has also secured significant research funding for various projects in these areas. Ahmed is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), and an active member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), where he serves as an Academic Assessor. He has delivered keynote addresses at international conferences and held leadership roles in specialised renewable thermal systems. His research has resulted in multiple patents, numerous publications in high-impact journals, and collaborations with global academic institutions and industry leaders. Dr Rezk is at the forefront of innovation, driving sustainable energy solutions that support industrial transformation and global decarbonisation efforts.

N.I.Alekseev, born in 1963. Graduated from the Physics Faculty of of Leningrad State University in 1986 (Chair of Statistical Physics). Since March 1986, he has worked in the Low Temperature Plasma Laboratory at the A.F. Ioffe Phys.-Technical Institute (PhTI). In 1996 he asserted his Ph.D. thesis on “Physical studies of plasma key elements for high modulated voltages” in the specialty “Physics and Chemistry of Plasma”. Since 1996, he has worked in the Laboratory of Plasma and Gas Dynamics at PhTI. From this moment, the principal area of N.I. Alekseev's research has been nanocarbon materials such as fullerenes and their derivatives, carbon nanotubes, shungites, graphene, diamonds and their applications. In the course of his research he managed grants of scientific, applied and partially commercial character related to nanocarbon topics. In 2009 he asserted his doctoral thesis “Physical mechanisms of formation of fullerenes and carbon nanotubes”. Since 2011, he has been working at LETI SPb ETU LETI and since then has focused on nanocarbon and related materials. He lectured on the courses “Non-equilibrium phenomena at interfaces”, ‘Carbon nanoelectronics’ in Russian and English, ‘Fundamentals of materials science of nanomaterials’, ‘Fundamentals of materials science of micro- and nanosystems’, ‘Fundamentals of technology of wide-gap semiconductors’ within the framework of the ‘Advanced Engineering Schools’ program, conducted practical classes on these disciplines. The most significant works are devoted to modeling the formation of the graphene and diamonds in various technologies and possible ways to improve these technologies, as well as some diagnostic methods in relation to the study of diamonds.

Prof. Mineo Hiramatsu received Ph.D. from Nagoya University, Japan in 1987 and is a Full Professor of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Meijo University, Japan since 2006. He served as the Director of The Japan Society of Applied Physics. His main fields of research are plasma diagnostics and plasma processing for the synthesis of thin films and nanostructured materials. He was awarded the Japan Society of Applied Physics Fellow in 2017.

Dilara ICKECAN’s degree is in physics department from the Marmara University (Ph.D., 2025). She currently serves as a Lecturer at Istanbul Ticaret University. Her research focuses on applying machine learning methods to understand the physical properties of two-dimensional systems. Her PhD thesis has been supported by TUBITAK BIDEP 2211-C National PhD Scholarship Program in the Priority Fields in Science and Technology and The Council of Higher Education (YOK,100/2000) PhD Scholarship Program. Dr. ICKECAN has awards including: 2024, Distinguished Student (DS) Award at APS Marh Meeting 2024 and 2014, 1st rank in the Physics Education at Karadeniz Technical University.

I am a doctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, specializing in materials research and nanoscience, with a particular focus on functional 2D nanomaterials. My research investigates the structural transformations and properties of these materials, particularly those induced by ion implantation. By studying atomic-scale phenomena, I aim to unlock new possibilities for tailoring material properties using advanced techniques like molecular dynamics simulations, scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM), and Raman spectroscopy. Currently, I am focused on defect engineering in MoS₂ nanomaterials via low-energy ion implantation to optimize them for next-generation 2D functional devices. I completed my master’s at COMSATS University Islamabad, where I also served as a research assistant at the CMND (Center for Micro and Nano Devices). My master’s research examined strain effects on the electro-optical properties of 2D materials like MoS₂, WS2, and graphene. I gained hands-on experience in the synthesis and strain engineering of 2D materials, aiming to enhance their properties for use in optoelectronics, sensors, and semiconductor devices. This research role provided valuable insights into nanomaterial applications, influencing my current work. I am passionate about exploring the unique properties of 2D materials and their applications in optoelectronics, catalysis, energy storage, defect engineering, and strain engineering. By integrating both experimental and theoretical approaches, I strive to deepen our understanding of these materials and refine their properties for advanced technological applications. Through my research, I aim to contribute to breakthroughs in nanoelectronics, sustainable energy solutions, and next-generation materials, pushing the boundaries of innovation in materials science.

Artur J. da Silva earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine from the Federal University of Pernambuco in Brazil (2019-2023). Prof. Ahmed Abd El-Moneim, received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Faculty of Science, Cairo University. Prof. El-Moneim received his Ph.D. degree from Faculty of Engineering, Tohoku University, Japan, after which he appointed as an assistant Professor at Institute of Materials Research (IMR), Tohoku University. Then he received a Post Doc scholarship and visiting research fellow at Tohoku institute of technology (TIT), Japan and Institute for Solid state and Materials Research (IFW) Germany, successfully. Prof. El-Moneim is the founding chairperson of Materials Science and Engineering Department, Faculty of Innovative Design and Engineering, at Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), Alexandria, Egypt, during period 2010-2018. Dean of Basic and Applied Sciences Institute, E-JUST during the period of 2018-tillnow. He is also currently founding Director of Graphene Center of Excellence for Energy and Electronic Applications (GCEE), E-JUST. His research is focusing on; i) synthesis, characterization and application of nanomaterials- based on graphene and MOF for liquid and Green hydrogen fuel production. ii) 2D and 3D printing of wearable electronics. Professor Abd El-Moneim holds 3 US + 1 JP registered patents, 8 filled Egy., Patents and authored 197 International per-reviewed journal and conference publications. Supervised/Supervising 57 M.Sc. and Ph.D. national and international students. PI/Co-PI/member of 19 running and concluded research projects in collaboration with Egyptian Industries and academia in USA, Japan and Germany.

Dr. Wajid Ali, received his Ph.D. degree from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Shanghai University. He then worked as an assistant professor at the School of Chemistry, Xi'an Jiaotong University from 2019 to 2022. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Zhejiang Normal University. As the first author, he has published articles in high-level journals such as the Journal of Chemical Engineering, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, ACS Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering, and the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy. He published 30 research articles and owned 5 Chinese patents. He is the reviewer of various international journals, such as Magnesium of Alloys and Compound, Chemical Engineering, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy and Journal of Alloys and Compound. He has received awards such as the Chinese Government Scholarship for Outstanding International Students and the 5th Shanghai Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Kechuang Cup). His research interests include TiFe and magnesium-based hydrogen storage materials, High entropy alloys, novel hydrogen storage catalyst materials, single/double transition metal 2D/3D MXene structure design, and SiC-based electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries.

Dr. Haruyasu Asahara received Ph.D. from Osaka University, Japan in 2010 and is an Associate Professor of Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Osaka, Japan since 2019. His main fields of research are photochemistry and polymer chemistry. His recent research is focusing on surface modification of graphene by photo-activated chlorine dioxide process.

I obtained my bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Jocotitlán. Later, I completed a master's degree in Semiconductor Devices at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla and currently I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Advanced Technologies at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional. I am co-authored a scientific article and authored a science outreach article. My research focuses on the growth and characterization of III-V semiconductor materials, having participated in institutional projects in this field. I have experience working with electrochemical anodization systems, Chemical Vapor Transport (CSVT), and Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE).

“I am an Assistant Professor and the Head of the Genetic Engineering Laboratory at the Department of Nanobiotechnology, Institute of Biology, Warsaw University of Life Sciences. I hold a PhD from the Faculty of Animal Sciences and have been working in the field of nanotechnology for over ten years. My research interests focus on nanobiotechnology, biomaterials, cancer development, and epigenetics, particularly the role of miRNA and the use of non-viral vectors in gene therapy. I also specialize in biostatistics, applying advanced statistical methods in the design and analysis of experimental data. As a principal investigator in projects funded by the National Science Centre of Poland, I combine research leadership with teaching responsibilities, coordinating and delivering courses for both Polish and international students, including those in the Erasmus+ program.”

Dr. Nicolas GAUTHIER, joined the CEA-Leti in 2019 as research engineer at the Platform for Nanocharacterization (PFNC) based in Grenoble (France). He is in charge in electron spectroscopies (XPS/HAXPES, AES) and mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) measurements applied to electronic materials and µbatteries. Involved in numerous projects, he developed an expertise in the combined analysis of a large variety of inorganic and organic systems. Particularly, his main research is focused on the study of 2D materials (Graphene and dichalcogenides) by XPS and the quantification of Si-based semiconductors by correlating ToF-SIMS and photoelectron spectroscopies (SiGe, SiGeSn, SiP, SiON…). Nicolas GAUTHIER, completed his Ph.D in 2019 in Pau (France) in collaboration between SAFT, a French manufacturer of batteries and the university of Pau, specialist in the surface characterization by electron spectroscopies. He studied during three years the electrode/electrolyte interfaces in Li-ion batteries. Dr. Nicolas GAUTHIER is author and co-author of thirty reviewed papers and shared his work through several oral communications in specialized surfaces and interfaces conferences.
